October 6 & 13, 2024

Revive! (Ps 85:6) Prayer for revival Tuesday mornings at 9 am in the prayer room. All welcome!

Refresh! 6:30 PM on Thursdays each week. A regular gathering for everyone, an opportunity for all of us to grow in community, discipleship and outreach, includes a time of sharing and prayer in small groups.

Pre-Service Prayer, 10:10-10:25 As part of our emphasis on prayer in this season, Pastor Shelley is issuing a fresh invitation to come to pray for God to meet us in worship on Sunday mornings, that He touch our hearts, convict, renew, empower and reign over us!

Thanksgiving Sunday, October 13 is Tearfund Sunday. Let’s pray and ask God what we can give towards helping the poorest of the poor. You can give directly to Tearfund Canada online, or give through the church, just designate your offering, “Tearfund Sunday.”

October Food Drive in support of The Salvation Army’s Emergency Food Bank! Non-perishable food items are welcome throughout the month. Please place your items in the designated area in the foyer.

Our building will be an Advance Polling station in the upcoming provincial election. The Fellowship Hall will be in use for this purpose through the Thanksgiving weekend (excluding Monday). Please be prepared for activity in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday October 13, and pray for this as an opportunity.

There are a number of ways to give donations to the church. There is an offering box on the table to the right immediately as you enter the sanctuary. Offering envelopes are available at the same table. You can e-transfer a donation to the church (treasurer@kamfm.ca) or give through the Tithely app. Ask an usher or phone or email the church office. Thank you for giving!

Prayer Requests:

  • For our church: Continue to pray for the renewal of our church, for a fresh move of the Holy Spirit, for repentance and faith, refreshed hearts, encouragement to pursue the Lord wholeheartedly and willingness to reach out in love in our neighbourhood.
  • That God would open our eyes to opportunities to reach out in our community
  • That God would bring us people and send us to people
  • That God would enable us to hear His voice
  • That God would raise up a new generation of leaders
  • Pray for Student Café, for GriefShare, that God would be present and drawing hearts to Himself. For Caring Closet, that God would it to bless families in need.
  • For our refugee family in Coquitlam, for Mohammadreza, Maryam, Mahsa and Arnika. Pray for Arnika and Mahsa as they study this fall. Pray for the healing of Mahsa’s knee. Pray for language learning opportunities for Mohammadreza and Maryam, and for work opportunities for Mohammadreza.
  • Pray for peace in the Middle East. Pray for the church in the Middle East to be steadfast, to serve boldly, and to be a voice for peace as conflict escalates.
  • Pray for South Sudan: Pray for peace and God’s hand upon leadership, since the general election has been delayed 2 years.
  • Please pray for the situation in Rwanda, as public health authorities are working to contain the Marburg virus, a hemorrhagic fever virus with a high fatality rate. Twenty-six cases were identified over the weekend, and there have been eight deaths reported. Please pray the virus will be quickly contained and does not spread to more rural areas where health care is less accessible. Pray for missionaries (nurses), as they and other Kibogora staff continue to monitor the situation.
  • For those members of our church community who are currently facing health challenges. Pray for God’s presence, healing, peace, patience and support for their families. Pray for those grieving the loss of loved ones. May they experience God’s grace in the midst of challenge and change.
